The point about hundreds of law enforcement weapons lost each year is a good point, so let’s make the losing officers repay the taxpayers twice the cost of a replacement gun if we want that sloppy practice to cease.
To reduce some of the constant murders and shootings reported daily in this fine newspaper, let’s advocate locking up the felons, gang-bangers and punks for, say, 10 extra years each, when caught with a gun?
Why not encourage cops to stop and frisk known felons and gangbangers? Why not make it a 10-year enhancement if a burglar takes a gun from an honest citizens home or car?
To control crime, let’s punish the criminals, not the victims or the weapon.
